Poem by KS, daughter of William J. Smith Jr., Army 31st Regiment, I Co., Chosin

Soldiers, far away from home
In a distant and foreign land.
Soldiers, whom many that have never returned home
Their Lives, many lives have paid for freedom
for another person, another country
Freedom came at a great cost.
There, in Korea at the Chosin Reservoir
The blood of many touched the freezing solid soil and frozen waters.
The lives of many were lost, yet forgotton by many.
Their consecrated blood that touched the soil tells of the horror seen.
The survivors must tell their stories,
The soldiers live on.
